Under Construction

Due to a high volume of stress and recent sickness in the Wadley's home there will be a delay in posting on this website. Please check back soon for more updates. Until then, answer this question? How do you calm a child's inner anxieties that only show through little nervous habits. For example; biting fingernails, overeating, chewing on clothing & blankets, etc? You know there is something going on, but the child may not be able to tell you, how do you help them?

Chocolate. period. Is there really anything else?

When you say child, are you secretly talking about ones inner child...tell us what the real problem is...family? friends? Too much chocolate? Diarrhea? Moving stress? No schedule? No sleep?

I am serious guys, what do I do. No it is not an inner child, this is real and mind-boggling for a learning mother like myself. Give me some good ideas, and no chocolate would not help. Did you read the part about the over-eating thing? Come on now, give me some real constructive answers

Is there any one particular time when the anxiety is present? Is it after a punishment, meeting some new kids, or some sort of failure? It sounds like something difficult to diagnose.

Might try doing some sort of parent-child dates to help them feel some special attention. Maybe playgroups to be around other kids could help too. I dunno, sounds like a tough one.

First and formost I think you're doing a great job. I think moving into your own house will work wonders. I think (I'm not a doctor) having more stability(spell?) and structure is going to help tons. You're the Mom and David's the Dad and thats it. The buck stops there. Maybe have rules for actions, eating, bed time, even about time outs. Talk about everything, "why we don't eat more then our body needs", " why we need to obey", "why we need to take care of our temples(body)", ect. Good Luck. Let me know if you need/want any more ideas. Sorry if it was to much just delete it if it is.
